Compare the tasks you repeat
| Task | Linked PDF | Menuviora |
|---|---|---|
| Change a dish or price | Edit and replace the document at its destination | Edit the catalog, subject to active plan permissions |
| Read on a phone | Depends on the document layout; zoom may be needed | Responsive categories and dish views |
| Offer language versions | Prepare and maintain the documents or links | Review editable content in five supported languages |
| Submit a table order | A document alone does not supply this workflow | Available with Pro and Business |
A PDF can still be a reasonable choice
A short, readable menu that changes rarely may work well as a carefully prepared PDF. Keep its file manageable, check phone reading and make sure the linked version is current. A digital menu becomes more useful when you regularly change availability, maintain translations or need an order workflow.
Neither format guarantees faster loading, more sales or accessibility in every implementation. Test your own menu on the devices and connections your guests use. Preserve a practical alternative for guests who cannot scan or read the phone screen comfortably.
Three situations to discuss with your team
Compare your actual hosting or software costs, document maintenance, reprinting and the time your team spends making updates. There is no universal savings figure: list your present costs and the tasks the new setup would replace.
| Illustrative situation | First option to consider | What to check before deciding |
|---|---|---|
| A café with a short menu that rarely changes | A readable PDF at a stable address | Can guests read it without constant zooming, and can you replace the file without changing the link? |
| A restaurant updating availability and maintaining several languages | An editable digital menu | Who will update sold-out dishes, prices and translations, and how often? |
| A service that wants orders tied to specific tables | A menu with table ordering and a kitchen workflow | Can staff check the table, accept the order and follow preparation? A PDF does not supply that workflow. |
Questions before you start
Does an existing printed QR have to change when I move from PDF?
Only a link you control can be redirected to a new destination. Do not assume a printed code can be edited. Check where it points and whether you control that address before reusing the print.
